IT security firm Avecto to add 40 jobs following turnover growth

IT security firm Avecto is set to grow its headcount by 40 as it revealed record turnover for the first half of its financial year.

The Manchester-headquartered business, which also has offices in Boston, USA and Bad Homburg, Germany saw record revenue figures for the six months ending December 2016, up 83% on the same period last year.

The company also recorded its biggest ever quarter in booked orders for H4, 2016.

The company, which has over 200 employees, said its growth has followed the expansion of its footprint on the global technology stage.

Its endpoint security software, Defendpoint has continued to see significant demand internationally. In 2016, Avecto secured business with a leading consumer goods manufacturer, a global consultancy firm and Fortune 500 technology company among many others.

The business was recently named an official Northern Powerhouse Partner, helping to champion northern technology talent in the UK and overseas.

Avecto was listed as one of The Sunday Times Best Places to Work, while it celebrated the first anniversary of its move to state-of-the-art 30,000 sq ft premises at Trident, Manchester Airport and bigger offices in Somerville, Massachusetts.

Mark Austin, co-founder and co-CEO at Avecto said: “We have a culture of high achievement and ambition here at Avecto and these latest results are a great reflection of that. The whole team works tirelessly to grow and drive the business forward, and it is testament to everyone at the company that we’ve seen such a positive set of results at the half year point.

“We continue to invest in our software, our people and our working environment to ensure we stay one step ahead of the competition, and keep Avecto at the forefront of the cyber security industry.”
