Oxford Quantum Circuits (OQC), a quantum computing firm, has announced the appointment of experienced engineering leader Jack Boyer as its new chair. The move comes as the company continues its global expansion and pushes forward with technological advancements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mr. Boyer, 65, brings a significant track record in scaling deep-tech and engineering businesses to the role. He currently holds positions as Chair of the Royce Hydrogen Accelerator at Bristol University and Non-Executive Director at Bela Holdings AG. While the announcement was made at the start of April, Mr. Boyer officially took up his position as chair of the board today, 16 April 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
His extensive corporate background includes previous roles as Chairman of Ilika plc and Seeing Machines plc, Senior Independent Director of TT Electronics plc and Elcogen plc, and Non-Executive Director at Ricardo plc, Laird plc, and Mitie plc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mr. Boyer’s contributions to science and engineering were recognised in 2015 with the award of an OBE. He said: “It is a privilege to join OQC at such a pivotal time. Quantum computing has the potential to transform industries worldwide, and OQC is at the forefront of this revolution. I look forward to working with the Board and leadership team to build on the company\u2019s successes and accelerate its impact on the global stage.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Gerald Mullally, Interim CEO of OQC, concluded: “OQC has been on an incredible trajectory over the past 18 months, and Jack\u2019s appointment is a testament to our ambition and momentum. His extensive experience and leadership will be instrumental in driving our next phase of growth.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
