Accenture moves into Cornerblock as Bruntwood SciTech expands Birmingham presence

Accenture has joined Cornerblock’s community of innovation-focused businesses in Birmingham, bringing the landmark nine-storey building to 97% occupancy.
The global professional services firm has taken 9,000 sq ft of workspace in the 116,000 sq ft building, following Bruntwood SciTech’s £500,000 refurbishment, which included new reception and concierge services, breakout areas, a coworking lounge, and upgraded gym and changing facilities. The building, located in the Colmore Business District, also features the city’s largest private roof terrace.
Accenture is already part of Bruntwood SciTech’s network through its presence at Circle Square in Manchester. Its move into Cornerblock connects the company to over more digital, technology and innovation-led businesses in Birmingham, strengthening links within Bruntwood SciTech’s ecosystem.
Mohamed Ali, Associate Director at Bruntwood SciTech, said: “As Birmingham continues to gain momentum as a national and global destination for innovative and future-focused businesses, so too must the workspaces that support them evolve. This latest addition to Cornerblock not only reflects the importance of creating modern, adaptable environments, but also the value of close collaboration with our customers.”
“By welcoming Accenture, we have not only retained them within our nationwide network but strengthened the wider Bruntwood SciTech ecosystem here in Birmingham. As the region continues to attract global innovators, we are proud to provide the infrastructure and support that helps them scale and thrive.”
The building, now powered entirely by renewable energy and net zero carbon across its communal spaces, has seen strong demand over the past year. Companies joining Cornerblock include ToHealth Ltd, Bryt Energy, and PKF Smith Cooper, leaving just two suites totalling 2,600 sq ft available.
Bruntwood SciTech, a joint venture between Bruntwood, Legal & General, and Greater Manchester Pension Fund, has invested £52.5 million in Birmingham over the last 12 months across its network, including Centre City, Cornwall Buildings, Mclaren, Innovation Birmingham, and Birmingham Health Innovation Campus. The company has supported 20 new businesses and helped five others expand during this period.
The agreement for Accenture’s space was facilitated by Savills and CBRE.
