Capita acquires Trustmarque Solutions for £57 million

Trustmarque Solutions Ltd has been acquired by global outsourcer Capita for £57m. The firm has offices in York, Coventry, Sheffield, Edinburgh and London, and specialises in software resale and licensing services and, according to a press release, are Microsoft’s most accredited licensing partner, boasting 14 Gold Partner competencies.

The deal marks the fourth time the firm have been acquired in recent years after parent company Ardbird Ltd put the company on the market in February.

The reseller and managed services outfit sells to 1,450 private and public sector clients including Volkswagen Financial Services, the Camping and Caravanning Club and a range of NHS bodies.

The firm employs 620 staff over its five UK offices, and turned over £191.9m in calendar year ’15. Profit after tax was £11.94m, versus a loss of £1.64m in the previous year.

Andy Parker, Capita’s Chief Executive said: “This acquisition provides Capita with a set of capabilities and expertise that complement our existing businesses – and the mix of core reseller activity and higher value services is a strong proposition that will sit well with our wider technology offering.

“Trustmarque’s ‘Enterprise-as-a-Service’ model will provide a number of opportunities to build new services and deepen our existing relationships with key partners, in particular with Microsoft.

“It will particularly enhance our growing Capita Technology Solutions business, expanding its ability to offer innovative services to current and potential clients. Specific specialities, such as software asset management and strategic cloud consultancy, have strong synergies with Capita’s existing propositions.“

Trustmarque and Capita’s relationship goes back a number of years, after the licensing house were embedded within Capita’s technology reseller and service integration business.
