Digital Lancashire plans to boost tech scene – first 100 members sign up free

Digital Lancashire has launced to support technology companies within the region, and “accelerate the digital economy in Lancashire.”

Supported by Lancashire County Council, membership fees will help the organisation to focus on skills, training, awareness of the tech sector and improving best practice. Membership is, however, free for the first 100 companies and individuals that sign up.

Digital Lancashire is headed up by Managing Director Stewart Townsend. While based in the county, he has worked in senior sales roles at internationally tech firms names including Oracle, Datasift and Zendesk.

Digital Lancashire Founders cropThe organisation joins the small but growing number of membership-based trade bodies in the North of England,  including Manchester DigitalSheffield Digital and the North East’s Dynamo.

Digital Lancashire has a huge geographic area to cover; from Chorley in the South, to Lancaster in the North, Blackpool in the West and Burnley in the East.
