Sheffield big data firm Wandisco’s COO steps down

The COO, head of marketing and co-founder of listed software business Wandsico has announced his intention to step down.

James Campigli will leave his role with immediate effect to pursue other business interests.

The Sheffield based business said he “leaves with the board’s thanks for the significant contribution he has made since WANdisco’s inception.”

Meanwhile, Dr Yeturu Aahlad, who was part of the core team that founded WANdisco in 2005, is appointed to the board with immediate effect.

The company, which specialises in Big Data solutions for global business, struggled to deal with boardroom challenges last year which saw chief executive and founder David Richards leave and then return the next month.

His return in October 2016 coincided with the departure of chairman Paul Walker and non-executive director Ian Duncan.

Richards said: “We are delighted to welcome Dr Aahlad to the board. As a founder and pioneer of WANdisco’s patented technology, he is a natural addition and we believe he offers a wealth of industry experience which will be invaluable as we implement our near term growth strategy.

“I would also like to thank Jim for his tremendous contribution in the development of WANdisco and wish him well in all his future endeavours.”
