Turnover soars at Queen’s Award-winning IT consultancy

An IT consultancy which won a Queen’s Award in 2018 has grown turnover by almost 40 per cent, boosted by new offices and growth in the US.

BJSS designs develops and supports large-scale digital transformation projects on behalf of the world’s largest organisations and reported a turnover of £116m for the year ending 30 April 2018, up 39 per cent from £83.2m in 2016/17. Pre-tax profit increased to £26.5m from £19.5m the year before.

Average staff numbers also increased at BJSS by 35 per cent, from 573 in 2017 to 775 in 2018.

Stuart Bullock, managing director, said: “We have had a very strong year with more successful deliveries than ever before from all areas of the business, new clients in the UK and the US, the launch of new offices in Scotland, and the expansion of our US operation to Houston.”

BJSS won a Queen’s Award for innovation in April 2018 in recognition of its ‘ Enterprise Agile’ software delivery approach.

The company employs about 600 technologists in its Northern offices in Leeds, Manchester and Nottingham, and has offices in London, Bristol, Glasgow and Edinburgh, as well as New York and Houston, is a member of the Northern Powerhouse Partners Programme.

Through these propositions, we’re able to develop even stronger relationships with our clients and continue to play a crucial role as their trusted advisor. We’re continuing to shape and develop our new Technology and Business consulting offerings. These two new business areas have been setup to help us better understand how our clients can make the best use of advances in technology, while also helping them to cost effectively embrace technology and in turn add significant value to their businesses.”
