The US tech firm has hired a team of 10 developers in the North East

A new teamGlobal technology business, Saggezza, has boosted its offering in the North East after creating a new team of 10 at its office at Sunderland Software Centre, which it opened in 2014.

The group of 10 java developers will be dedicated to supporting Saggezza’s work with a global investment bank. Saggezza has been working with the client for some time but its contract has recently been extended and the company could create more jobs in the region if the team’s work proves successful.

Saggezza is already planning on doubling its headcount this year.

Martin Williams, UK managing director of Sagezza, said: “We have grown a fantastic team in Sunderland and that is testament to the talent that exists here. We’re proud that, when people join Saggezza, they’re supported to grow and develop further too, and that makes for really rewarding career opportunities.

“Part of Saggezza’s ethos is to become an extension of our clients’ team, ramping up our support to deliver against their projects. It’s hugely rewarding when clients come to us with an additional tech requirement, because it proves how highly they value our work and so it’s key that we are able to meet their needs.

“We pride ourselves on assembling the best possible teams, so it can be a challenge to find the right people, but we are determined, and we have managed to create a really strong group of 10, who we know will perform exceptionally for this client.”

Work on the new project will see the 10 new starters supported by the company’s existing team at its headquarters in Chicago and offices in Santa Clara, US, and Bangalore and Chennai, India.
