Raw Charging has launched a rapid electric vehicle charging facility with 32 bays at the Cardigan Fields leisure and entertainment complex in Leeds. The site, which houses a cinema, gym, and various restaurants, now features 14 AC fast chargers, six DC50 rapid chargers, and 12 DC150 ultra-rapid chargers.
The facility is accessible to drivers 24 hours a day, allowing for vehicle charging during visits to local amenities or while in transit. Each unit is designed for contactless payment to ensure ease of use for customers.
The installation at Cardigan Fields is part of a £24,500,000 investment programme by Raw Charging and Landsec. This initiative aims to establish electric vehicle charging bays at 25 retail and leisure locations across the country. It follows a similar 32-bay installation at Xscape Yorkshire.
To mark the opening, the company is providing free charging at the Leeds facility from 13 April to 19 April 2026 for those who register for the Raw Rewards programme.
Neil Broadbank, Chief Commercial Officer at Raw Charging, said, “This launch marks a significant milestone in our partnership with Landsec and our mission to connect amazing places across the UK. With 24/7 access and a mix of fast and ultra‑rapid chargers, drivers can recharge conveniently while enjoying everything Cardigan Fields has to offer.”
Mark Welsby, Centre Manager at Cardigan Fields, said, “As demand for electric vehicles continues to grow locally, providing convenient, reliable charging is essential. This investment enhances the visitor experience while supporting progress towards net zero and long‑term value for our community.”
