Both companies are based in Manchester, with Secarma offering penetration testing and online security, while Pentest focuses on app security.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"main-body\">\n<div class=\"wrap main-body-wrap\">\n<div class=\"article article-full article-channel-news article-full-channel-news\">\n<div class=\"article-body\">\n<p>As a result of the deal, Secarma is expected to add new resources to Pentest Limited, including a team of ethical hackers.<\/p>\n<p>Managing director for Pentest Limited, John Denneny, said: \u201cIn order for us to continue our current rapid growth curve, we believe the time was right to look for a partner whose approach to business and its employees very much mirrors ours. The deal gives us the opportunity to invest in our people and its future growth to a degree that we could not match standalone.<\/p>\n<div class=\"c-lede-inline__title\">\u201cWe have found the perfect partner in Secarma, an ambitious business with an existing management that demonstrates an understanding of our industry and its potential,\u201d he added.<\/div>\n<p>As a result of the deal, Pentest is due to relocate to the UKFast Campus, where a cybersecurity research lab is currenty being constructed.<\/p>\n<p>UKFast CEO Lawrence Jones is is behind the acquisition <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thetimes.co.uk\/article\/swoop-on-hacking-team-v2wd7pxlv\" target=\"_blank\">for a rumoured \u00a310m<\/a>, as he owns Secuarma. \u00a0He is\u00a0aiming to build a \u00a3100m security services business on the back of his acquisition.<\/p>\n<p>Secarma,\u00a0according to a press statement, will remain headquartered in the UK but the merger will now allow the firm to expand in the USA, where Pentest claims to have existing Silicon Valley-based clients.<\/p>\n<p>CEO Lawrence Jones said the deal was \u201ca great merger of similar cultures\u201d.\u00a0He added: \u201cOur investment in Pentest is an investment in knowledge and talent. It\u2019s a demonstration of our intentions for both our clients at UKFast and the eCommerce and online community that we see security as an area of massive importance.
