{"id":1340,"date":"2017-04-20T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2017-04-20T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.techsparx.co.uk\/north\/uncategorized\/job-cheshire-east-council-sets-up-new-taskforce-to-promote-digital-economy\/"},"modified":"2025-02-28T14:38:01","modified_gmt":"2025-02-28T14:38:01","slug":"job-cheshire-east-council-sets-up-new-taskforce-to-promote-digital-economy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.techsparx.co.uk\/north\/job-cheshire-east-council-sets-up-new-taskforce-to-promote-digital-economy\/","title":{"rendered":"Cheshire East Council sets up taskforce to promote digital economy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Established technology firms are being used by Cheshire East council chiefs as a model to inspire small creative and digital firms.<\/p>\n<p>Barclays\u2019 Global Technology Centre, in Radbroke, and the Warner Bros-owned TT Fusion, in Wilmslow, are among the\u00a0companies hailed by Cheshire East Council\u2019s Skills and Growth Company following the\u00a0creation of\u00a0a new taskforce to promote the sector.<\/p>\n<p>Industry-led group Weave will promote the borough\u2019s creative and digital industry, address skills gaps to ensure businesses can flourish.<\/p>\n<p>With the sector growing 30 per cent faster than the average for the economy in recent years,\u00a0Denise Proctor, chairman of Weave, said: \u201cOur creative businesses have a proven track record of award-winning innovation and regularly top the league tables of the most influential industry-leading expertise.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWeave will celebrate our strengths, ensure we can both retain and attract skilled staff and be equipped to face the challenges of a rapidly-evolving sector.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The borough\u2019s technology firms include specialisms such as programming, software development, game and app design, website building and advertising.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the new initiative, Weave will be hosting a series of \u2018Town Talks\u2019 across the borough to inspire east Cheshire\u2019s creative industry.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Established technology firms are being used by Cheshire East council chiefs as a model to inspire small creative and digital firms.
