The Tech North Angel Network\u00a0programme will kick off this autumn with a series of events across the North.<\/p>\n

The aim is to build a strong, open network of tech investors that is easy to access and open to pan-Northern collaboration. Tech North is working with a variety of partners on this, including\u00a0UKBAA<\/a>,\u00a0GP Bullhound<\/a>,\u00a0Angel Academe<\/a>,\u00a0Dow Schofield Watts<\/a>,\u00a0All Bright<\/a>\u00a0and others.<\/p>\n

The \u2018open\u2019 aspect is important. Private angel networks have their place, but it can be very hard for startups to access them. That\u2019s if they know about them at all. Great deals could be left on the table because the right entrepreneurs never meet the right angels.<\/p>\n

Mini-workshops<\/h4>\n

Tech North Angel Network opens with a series of workshops . These are aimed at new or inexperienced angel investors, and existing investors who haven\u2019t yet put money into tech.<\/p>\n

If you have money to invest in early-stage startups but don\u2019t know where to begin, we\u2019ll explain everything you need to know. Maybe you already invest in other kinds of businesses, maybe you don\u2019t invest at all. Either way, these events are for you. Young tech startups are different to any other kind of investment, with specific challenges but potentially large rewards.<\/p>\n

At these events you\u2019ll hear from experienced investors, lawyers, and accountants. They\u2019ll share everything you need to know about getting started as a tech angel.<\/p>\n

The workshop will cover topics like:<\/p>\n

\u25cf The angel market and the role of an angel investor
\n\u25cf Tax relief and investment trends
\n\u25cf What to look for in an investment opportunity<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re an angel investor, or an aspiring angel investor, and want to know more, book yourself in for one of the free events below. And if you know someone who might make a great angel, please spread the word!<\/p>\n

These workshops are for inexperienced angel investors, and existing investors who haven\u2019t yet invested in tech. They will introduce the angel investment market and the investment process. They will get new angels ready to write their first cheque.<\/p>\n

Using the most effective combination of education, collaboration, mentoring and practice with experienced angel investors we will address topics like:<\/p>\n

\n\u25cf Due diligence exercise using case study
\n\u25cf Angel groups and syndicates
\n\u25cf Making an investment
\n\u25cf Post investment activity
