Liverpool John Lennon Airport has collaborated with Warwick-headquartered telecommunications technology specialist Telent to trial a CCTV assurance platform named Arbitex. The system provides technical teams with continuous visibility regarding the condition and performance of the airport’s camera estate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The three-month trial has now concluded, allowing the airport to evaluate how automated daily checks on each camera improve oversight and maintenance planning. The platform verifies connectivity, confirms alignment against reference images and assesses image quality, including the detection of dirt or obstructions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Throughout the process, Telent worked with the Technical Services team at the airport and the on-site maintenance contractor. This involved onboarding, calibration of reference frames and the refinement of reporting parameters to ensure the camera estate was accurately represented. The teams configured the platform to reflect the scale and operational importance of the CCTV infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The automated monitoring provides structured assurance that cameras are performing as expected. Rather than relying on reactive fault reporting or periodic inspection, engineers can identify potential performance issues earlier and schedule maintenance. The data-driven insight delivered by the platform offered visibility of issues before they could impact operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a critical infrastructure environment, this level of visibility provides confidence that CCTV systems remain aligned and operational, supporting the daily running of the airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Michael Brown, Head of Technical Services at Liverpool John Lennon Airport, said: \u201cOperationally, Arbitex has become an invaluable tool for monitoring the health and condition of our CCTV estate. The platform provides consistent visibility of system performance and early insight into potential issues, allowing us to take a more proactive approach to maintenance. In a critical infrastructure environment, that level of assurance is extremely valuable.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Following the completion of the trial, Telent began its contracted rollout of the system at the airport from 1 April. This phase extends the platform across the full CCTV estate to support a data-driven maintenance approach. The system gives the airport visibility of system performance and offers early warning of degrading camera performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The trial demonstrated operational benefits, supporting a proactive maintenance model and strengthening system assurance across the site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
