Solid State awarded US contract for smart technology solution

Electronics manufacturer Solid State plc, based in Redditch, Worcestershire, has secured a $5.2 million follow-on contract with a US-based franchise line for its Internet of Things (IoT) technology product, initially supplied in May 2024.
The customer, a US franchise line whose identity has not been disclosed, is using the solution to create smart vending machines. These machines incorporate technology designed to enable intelligent billing and inventory management. It integrates industrial-grade hardware with cloud-based services.
The new agreement will be fulfilled by Solid State’s Components division, Solsta. Delivery is scheduled to begin in the second quarter of the 2025/26 financial year and is expected to continue through to the third quarter of 2026/27.
