Southampton telecoms business circle.cloud has launched a communications platform designed for small and medium-sized enterprises following five years of internal development.
The system, named Olatti, brings voice calling on UK numbers, instant messaging, video meetings, call recording and transcription into a single application interface. The platform links with artificial intelligence models including Claude and ChatGPT to carry out voice commands.
Olatti was developed by a 20-person engineering team and is managed by We UC, a separate company established in Southampton by circle.cloud founder Axel Molist. The software operates on proprietary network infrastructure and hosts user data, call recordings and transcriptions in UK data centres.
The launch follows previous expansion by parent business Circle Technology Group. In mid-2025, the Southampton-headquartered provider acquired neighbouring firm Tetra Networks, increasing its combined user base to approximately 10,000. That transaction provided the expanded customer network and operational scale required to support the direct deployment of its proprietary We UC and Olatti software platforms.
The platform is aimed at professional services firms, including accountancy practices, recruitment agencies, architectural practices and creative consultancies.
Axel Molist, founder, commented: “The biggest cost in a small business is not the conversations that go badly. It is the conversations that never happen. It is the call someone puts off because finding the number, the app and the right moment is too much effort. We built Olatti so people can just have the conversation. We spent years limited by a third-party system, unable to build exactly what our customers needed. Owning the whole stack means that when a customer asks for something on a Monday morning, we can often have it live by Friday. We ship updates to production every week.”
Molist, who originally studied audio technology at Solent University after moving from Barcelona, funded the software rollout without external investment. The group’s businesses employ more than 150 staff.
Molist added: “I have always believed in vertical integration, in making sure we control the software and the infrastructure for the services we provide. We could have taken investment and grown much faster and probably moved to London. We chose to remain bootstrapped, stay in Southampton, and build something we own.”
