London-based Ulla Technology Ltd. has reported £500,000 in private investment to launch its AI-powered assistant, also named Ulla, which has been designed to transform meeting management. The tool aims to boost productivity for businesses in sectors such as law, government, accounting, and corporate services, while prioritising data security through a privacy-first design.
Co-founded by AI and machine learning expert Arkadiy Ukolov, Ulla has been developed to transcribe meetings, identify speakers, and generate tailored, industry-specific summaries – all while ensuring stringent data privacy and confidentiality.
Recent data from the Cyber Security Breaches Survey 2025 indicates that nearly 43 per cent of businesses and 30 per cent of charities in the UK experienced a cybersecurity breach or attack in the past year, underscoring the persistent threat of data breaches and the critical need for robust data security measures.
For professionals in highly regulated sectors like law, government, and finance, the implications of data leakage are potentially catastrophic. Sensitive meeting discussions, client strategies, or confidential documents could be compromised if processed by generic AI tools that transmit data to third-party servers.
Ulla wants to mitigate this by offering users complete control over their data, encompassing storage, processing, and access. Whether hosted on Ulla Cloud, private servers, or integrated into existing infrastructure, no third-party AI providers are ever involved. Unlike mainstream tools, Ulla operates independently of services such as OpenAI, ensuring that highly sensitive information never leaves the user’s secure environment.
Built to meet the stringent demands of regulated industries, Ulla securely transcribes meetings, identifies speakers, and generates structured, professional summaries – all without compromising data privacy. Ulla also streamlines post-meeting workflows through its chatbot feature, enabling users to query meeting histories with natural language questions such as, “When did we discuss this matter?” or “What did this client ask in the last meeting?”.
Ulla also enhances collaboration with multilingual recognition and speaker identification, ensuring meeting content is accessible across diverse professional settings. Leading firms including Sterling Law, OpenWeather, and Schoolgate Accounting Services are already utilising Ulla to securely manage meeting data and improve operational efficiency.
Arkadiy Ukolov, Co-Founder and CEO of Ulla Technology Ltd, commented: “The challenge of balancing productivity with privacy has never been greater, especially for professionals in law, government, and accounting. Ulla was created to give these professionals the power of cutting-edge AI while ensuring their most sensitive data remains under their control. Unlike traditional AI solutions, which rely on third-party services, Ulla processes everything locally, empowering users to confidently manage their meeting data without compromising security. Our mission is simple — to provide a privacy-first solution that not only enhances operational efficiency but also ensures complete data confidentiality at every step.”
The £500,000 in private investment will enable Ulla to expand its market reach, targeting both the UK and US markets in the coming year.
