NavLive, a spin-out from the University of Oxford, which create digital twins of buildings using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and LiDAR technology for the construction and infrastructure sectors, has successfully closed a £4 million funding round.

NavLive’s innovative handheld scanner is capable of generating high-resolution point clouds and producing floor plans and elevations on-site, eliminating the need for tripods, targets, or extensive post-processing. Users can simply walk through a space and receive CAD-ready outputs for surveys, reportedly cutting time and costs by up to 80 per cent. The technology has already been deployed on significant projects with industry leadersy.

NavLive was established in 2022, originating from the Oxford Robotics Institute, and has since expanded to a team of 15, led by chief executive Chris Davison, who said: “NavLive is on a mission to transform the architecture, engineering and construction (AEC), nuclear and defence sectors through real-time AI-powered mapping – helping our users increase profit margins while driving environmental sustainability in the built environment. Born out of cutting-edge robotics and AI research, NavLive is proud to design and manufacture its technology in Oxford, with offices in both Oxford and London. We are delighted to be backed by Oxford Capital, whose strong track record in supporting deep tech ventures within the Oxford ecosystem makes them an ideal partner for our growth.”
