Kyocera Cyber, a new cybersecurity brand, has been launched today from Kyocera UK’s headquarters in Reading. The business, backed by the wider Kyocera group, will provide tailored protection services for small and medium-sized enterprises, combining existing Kyocera offerings with new capabilities.
At the centre of the new brand is a managed security operations centre (M-SOC), built on enterprise-grade architecture and designed to provide 24/7 monitoring, threat detection, incident response and vulnerability assessment. The platform uses AI-driven automation to streamline alert handling, allowing analysts to focus on threat hunting and escalations.
Kyocera Cyber has also formed a collaboration with cybersecurity provider Torq. Torq’s AI-powered hyperautomation platform will integrate with Kyocera Cyber’s infrastructure to strengthen security operations and deliver automated response capabilities.
Andrew Smith, Chief Information & Strategy Officer at Kyocera Cyber, said: “Many corporate cybersecurity companies do a good job of identifying threats, but then leave it to the customer to find a suitable provider to plug the gaps and upgrade their systems. This process is hugely complex and technical, and most customers will struggle to handle it without end-to-end support.
“Organisations don’t want to buy cyber services from companies that only scratch the surface; they want to work with certified specialists who live and breathe cybersecurity, providing valued insights and advice that is tailored to their business and risk profile.
“That was our thinking behind Kyocera Cyber: a distinct, forward-thinking brand with our own AI-powered, hyperautomated next generation managed SOC at its core, offering a holistic suite of services available under a single umbrella. These are led by expert teams that are separate from a customer’s business, but also know the organisation’s inner workings.
“Partnering with Kyocera Cyber means customers can choose what works best for them, whether that means fully outsourcing to our M-SOC, or adopting a blend of managed security services to extend their coverage. Joining forces with Torq is key to this, as their platform helps ensure our proprietary architecture is best-equipped to offer peace of mind to customers.”
Eldad Livni, co-founder and CINO at Torq, added: “Torq is thrilled to partner with Kyocera for the launch of the Kyocera Cyber brand and its next stage of business growth. It’s impressive to see how Kyocera has harnessed the Torq Hyperautomation platform to serve as the engine for its AI-driven M-SOC offering. We’re pleased to integrate our industry-leading technology into the Kyocera ecosystem, which enables it to better meet customers’ complex cyber security challenges, while being instrumental to our own growth as a business.”
Kyocera Cyber’s launch comes at a time when companies face skills shortages, limited budgets and a growing need for global coverage to protect against new threats. The company will offer services such as endpoint detection and response, phishing defence and simulation, managed backup, disaster recovery and business continuity, alongside its new M-SOC.
Smith said the approach is intended to provide “a personal value-driven touch” that helps companies navigate cybersecurity challenges and achieve both immediate and long-term benefits.
