ThreatSpike, a London-based end-to-end cybersecurity provider, raised around £11.1 million in a Series A funding round that aimed to unify and simplify the company’s global expansion and accelerate further development of its platform.
In addition to the funding, Will Sheldon, Partner at Expedition Growth Capital, a growth equity firm with offices in London and Boston that focuses on the software sector, and Emily Orton, co-founder of Darktrace, have joined ThreatSpike’s Board of Directors.
Emily Orton expressed her excitement at joining ThreatSpike’s board and using her experience to help scale the business in its new phase of growth, while Will Sheldon commented: “ThreatSpike has the highest level of customer referral-driven growth and satisfaction that we have seen across the cybersecurity industry. The company has been growing rapidly and profitably without investment and we are proud to partner with Adam and Kate as they fuse software and services into a unique platform that delivers tangible cybersecurity outcomes for sophisticated customers globally.”
ThreatSpike proactively registered subsidiaries in Singapore, France, the USA, the UAE and China last year, so the £11.1 million in funding will support the company’s continued global expansion, including new hires in engineering, security operations and go-to-market teams. The company currently employs around 50 people and plans to expand the team to 75 by the end of the year.
ThreatSpike offers an all-in-one platform providing essential cybersecurity controls, from real-time threat detection to unlimited penetration testing. Their AI platform monitors billions of events per day, with expert analysts providing 24/7 security.
Adam Blake, CEO and Founder at ThreatSpike, concluded: “We [Adam and his co-founder, Kate Blake] founded ThreatSpike having witnessed first hand that achieving high quality cybersecurity protection is far too complex and costly. In a market full of three-letter acronym products and aggressive upselling, we take a different approach which puts customer security at the core. We are proud to combine world-class technology and expert support into one transparent, flexible solution that delivers true protection without the complexity or hidden costs. With this investment from Expedition, we have gained an aligned partner with deep expertise and resources to support our continued growth journey.”
Founded in 2011 and bootstrapped for nearly 14 years, ThreatSpike now serves over 200 customers across 90 countries.
