London-headquartered cybersecurity company ThreatSpike has appointed Katie Newton, formerly the global head of sales at Cambridge-based Darktrace, as an investor and advisor. Newton joins the company following a \u00a310.4 million Series A funding round and will work with ThreatSpike\u2019s go-to-market teams to accelerate the startup\u2019s global expansion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Newton has ten years of leadership experience, including four years as global head of sales at Darktrace, where she led the commercial organisation from a startup to a publicly listed company valued at $5 billion. During her time there, she helped with the company’s IPO and expanded its customer base to over 100 countries. Her experience in scaling sales operations and building teams will influence ThreatSpike\u2019s next phase of growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ThreatSpike was founded in 2011 by computer scientists Adam and Kate Blake. The firm has since doubled its staff to around 50 people and opened a new office in Mayfair, London. The company has also appointed notable technology figures, including Darktrace co-founder Emily Orton, to its board of directors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
