Digital Catapult, an organisation focused on deep tech innovation, has established a new office to serve South Gloucestershire, Bristol and Bath. This permanent base is situated at the Bristol & Bath Science Park and is intended to support the company\u2019s long-term work across the South West of England and Wales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The move is part of a regional strategy to collaborate with local universities, government bodies, businesses and startups. The presence in the region aims to assist local sectors such as aerospace, creative technology and energy, while also supporting initiatives like the AI Growth Zones in Wales.<\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n Susan Bowen, CEO of Digital Catapult, said: “The South West of England and Wales represent a significant opportunity for the UK economy with huge potential as centres of deep tech innovation and commercial growth. <\/sup>The early adoption and practical application of deep tech innovation will be critical to supporting local industries such as the West of England\u2019s aerospace cluster, the world-class Createch talent stretching through the innovation corridor from South Wales and into Exeter and Falmouth, realising the ambitions of Wales\u2019 two AI Growth Zones and strengthening regional energy security.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n “We have been active in the region for almost ten years and our new office doubles down on our commitment to play a vital role in unlocking this potential, connecting people, geographies and technologies and bridging the gap between local government, industry, entrepreneurs and academia to ensure the UK is future-ready.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n Representatives from South Gloucestershire Council noted that the investment in the new office would help create high-value jobs.
