{"id":2644,"date":"2026-09-09T13:19:38","date_gmt":"2026-09-09T13:19:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.techsparx.co.uk\/south\/?p=2644"},"modified":"2026-09-24T13:31:56","modified_gmt":"2026-09-24T13:31:56","slug":"british-business-bank-launches-210-million-south-east-investment-fund","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.techsparx.co.uk\/south\/investment\/british-business-bank-launches-210-million-south-east-investment-fund\/","title":{"rendered":"British Business Bank launches \u00a3210 million South East Investment Fund"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The British Business Bank has introduced a \u00a3210 million growth fund aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises across the South East of England.<sup><\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The South East Investment Fund covers Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, Sussex, Surrey, and Kent.<sup><\/sup> It offers commercial debt options from \u00a325,000 to \u00a32 million, alongside equity funding reaching up to \u00a35 million.<sup><\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The debt portion of the fund will be managed by The FSE Group, while Maven Capital Partners will oversee equity investments.<sup><\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The fund has completed its initial transaction, providing a \u00a3250,000 loan to Basingstoke-based energy technology company Process Vision to support its international expansion.<sup><\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to regional economic data cited at the launch, the South East accounts for 17 per cent of the UK&#8217;s university spinout companies, second only to London.<sup><\/sup> However, the region secured only 5 per cent of total national equity investment by value over the past year.<sup><\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">David Hourican, incoming interim chief executive officer of the British Business Bank, said:<sup><\/sup><sup><\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cToday\u2019s launch of The South East England Investment Fund will help to stimulate economic growth throughout the region.<sup><\/sup><sup><\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe South East of<sup><\/sup> England is home to some of the UK\u2019s most innovative technological and scientific businesses and this fund will ensure that business<sup><\/sup>es have local access to the finance they need to grow, scale and expand.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Business Secretary Jonathan Reynolds added:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cSmall businesses are the bedrock of our economy and a vital part of any high street, whether it\u2019s a tech startup in Surrey or a creative agency in Margate. Making sure that smaller businesses have the backing they need to thrive is a cru<sup><\/sup>cial part of creating good growth in every postcode.<sup><\/sup><sup><\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe are determined not to let access to investment be a barrier to<sup><\/sup> success for businesses in the South East. The launch of this fund will help to ensure that small businesses across the<sup><\/sup> South East can grow to match their ambitions, whether that is bringing in new staff, moving into a new base or scaling into an international company.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The initial \u00a3250,000 loan recipient, Basingstoke-based Process Vision, manufactures industrial monitoring systems for the energy sector. Its core product, LineVu, utilises machine vision and automated analysis to inspect high-pressure gas pipelines, helping operators identify fluid contamination.
