The meeting identified a shortage of entry-level hiring across regional businesses and found that anticipated junior artificial intelligence roles had failed to emerge in practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Participating businesses are not required to hire for dedicated artificial intelligence titles, with placements spanning technology, data, product management, operations, marketing, and customer success divisions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Laura Gemmell, founder of Taught by Humans, said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cMost entry-level AI work isn\u2019t building AI \u2013 it\u2019s using it, or building things with it. Those roles are accessible, they exist right now, and the barrier to entry is lower than it\u2019s ever been. The problem is that nobody \u2013 employers, candidates, job boards \u2013 has caught up with that yet. That\u2019s what this programme is trying to fix.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ben Shorrock, chief executive of techSPARK, said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cSome of the best ideas in a business come from the people who\u2019ve just walked through the door. Juniors see things differently, pick up new technology quickly and ask the questions everyone else has stopped asking. They\u2019re also tomorrow\u2019s senior talent. If we stop creating entry-level roles, we\u2019re storing up a skills gap for the future.
