Now in its 53rd year, the Queen’s Award for Enterprise celebrates outstanding achievement by UK businesses for innovation, international trade, sustainable development and promoting opportunity through social mobility, and winning businesses are able to use the Queen’s Award emblem for five years.

Incremental Solutions, which includes a team with backgrounds in commercial software, engineering, business management and transport network industries, who work with Network Rail, LNER, Northern, Transpennine Express, East Midlands Trains and Grand Central, provides GPS data visualisation and analysis software, which helps transport operators monitor the performance of their vehicles to improve and optimise their efficiency.

Daniel Lee-Bursnall, founder and commercial director of Incremental, said: “To say we’re incredibly proud is something of an understatement. This level of recognition is outstanding and full credit must go to the wider Incremental team and our partners for the hard work they do. There’s a real opportunity to improve rail and transport network’s performance with the clever use of technology, and we’re pleased to be based here in York and helping to lead that change.”

Andrew Sharp, head of business at Make It York, commented on the award proving that York is a city that helps innovative businesses: “York is fast getting a reputation as a city that really fosters innovation and growth and Incremental is a fantastic example of a company that is transforming their sector through the development of new and innovative products. Make It York has worked closely with the team at Incremental over the last few years to support their growth and we are delighted to see their hard work and inspiring innovation getting the recognition and reward it deserves. Their clever application of technology is changing the way data is used to improve performance in the rail and automotive sectors and we look forward to even greater things as they continue to develop.”
