Communicate Technology has appointed Paul Bryce as its new chief executive officer as the cybersecurity and IT network specialist seeks to expand following a period of growth involving acquisitions and private equity support. The appointment follows a year on year growth rate of 102 per cent for the firm, which is headquartered in Teesside.

This performance was supported by the integration of Blaze Networks, acquired last year, and investment from private equity firm Rockpool in 2024. The business provides cybersecurity, managed IT and network solutions to organisations throughout the UK.

Mr Bryce has more than 30 years of experience in the managed service provider sector and was previously a founding member of Node4. During his time in senior executive roles at Node4, he helped the business grow to more than 1,100 employees and £190 million in annual revenues. He also played a role in 10 acquisitions and three rounds of private equity investment.

In his new position, Mr Bryce will be responsible for managing Communicate Technology through its next phase of growth, with a focus on strategy, culture and long term value. The founder and outgoing group chief executive officer, Tony Snaith, will remain on the board as a non-executive director.

Tony Snaith said: “Paul joins us at a pivotal moment in our evolution, and his significant track record of successfully leading organisations through high-growth phases gives us complete confidence he will steer the business smoothly into our next chapter.”

He continued: “His appointment marks a strategic step change for the business, reinforcing our leadership capability and enabling us to not only deliver best-in-class connectivity and cybersecurity solutions, but to expand our offering and create greater value for our customers.”

Paul Bryce said: “This is an exciting time to join the Communicate team, as it looks to continue its growth journey. My focus will be on scaling with purpose by shaping strategy, strengthening culture, and promoting an environment where our teams and customers can thrive. I’m passionate about creating meaningful, long-term partnerships with businesses and look forward to working with the team to build on the strong foundations already in place as we enter this next phase of growth.”

The growth strategy for the company in 2026 will focus on scaling its core networks business, providing secure connectivity for organisations using distributed and hybrid working models. The firm has a national presence with offices in Teesside, Leeds, York, Macclesfield and Kent.
