Pinewood secures five-year agreement with Volkswagen Group Japan for automotive platform

Pinewood, a software company based at Birmingham Business Park, has entered into a five-year agreement with Volkswagen Group Japan to deploy its Pinewood Automotive Intelligence platform across all Volkswagen and Audi dealerships throughout the country.
Pinewood Automotive Intelligence is a software platform designed to manage dealership operations, including sales, service, and customer relationships, for the automotive retail sector.
Volkswagen Group Japan oversees the import and distribution of Volkswagen and Audi vehicles, parts, and accessories across Japan. It operates a national network of 350 dealerships.
The contract marks a notable expansion of Pinewood’s presence in the Asia-Pacific region, with platform deployment and related revenues expected to commence in the first half of 2026.
Bill Berman, chief executive of Pinewood Technologies Group, said:
“We are delighted to welcome Volkswagen Group Japan as a customer and strategic partner. This agreement marks a significant milestone for Pinewood, and we believe our Automotive Intelligence platform will support Volkswagen Group Japan in driving both growth and operational efficiency across its retail network.
“As highlighted at our Capital Markets Day in October 2024, Japan is a core focus in our international expansion strategy. We look forward to deepening our collaboration with Volkswagen Group Japan and hope to bring additional OEMs in Japan on board in the near future.”
Lennart Nigmann, group network management director of Volkswagen Group Japan, stated:
“This platform will significantly enhance the customer experience and streamline operations for our dealer partners. The integration of various Volkswagen Group systems into a single, unified platform represents a major step forward.”
