Wurksy AI joins University of Leicester Growth Academy
Wurksy AI has joined the Growth Academy at the University of Leicester as the student-founded business develops its artificial intelligence compliance platform for the higher education sector.
Founded in 2025 by final-year Biological Sciences student Rahul Modha, the company is developing a patent-pending platform designed to help universities manage the use of AI tools in coursework and assessment.
The platform provides students with what the company describes as a policy-aligned AI environment while generating an “AI Index” that records prompts, responses and usage activity. The system is intended to provide universities with an auditable record of AI use as institutions develop approaches to academic integrity and transparency requirements.
Wurksy AI has now joined the university’s Growth Academy programme, which is delivered through its Careers and Employability Service and provides mentoring, commercial guidance and business development support for student and graduate founders.
As part of the programme, Modha will receive support from Glynis Wright, entrepreneur in residence at the university.
Rahul said: “I am thrilled to join the Growth Academy and incredibly grateful for the opportunity to work under the guidance of Glynis. Her experience, strategic insight, and supportive approach will be invaluable as Wurksy AI enters its next stage of development plus the Growth Academy at the University provides the perfect environment to grow my venture.”
The company said it is targeting universities and higher education providers seeking ways to manage AI adoption within teaching and assessment. Initial areas of focus include digital learning teams, lecturers and academic departments developing governance frameworks for generative AI.
Dr Glynis Wright MBE added: “I am delighted to be supporting Rahul as he develops his exciting new venture, Wurksy AI. Rahul is a talented and highly motivated young entrepreneur whose vision demonstrates both innovation and real commercial promise. It is great to see the University of Leicester nurturing emerging entrepreneurial talent and I very much look forward to working with Rahul as he refines his strategy and takes Wurksy AI to the next stage of its growth.”
Tom Ledgard, head of careers and employability at the University of Leicester, said: “The Growth Academy is designed to empower ambitious students like Rahul by providing them with the right expertise, support, and opportunities. We are delighted to welcome him into the programme and excited to see how Wurksy AI develops with the invaluable mentoring from Glynis.”
