Aurrigo appoints airport operations director as deployments expand
Aurrigo International has appointed Mark Gower as director of global airport operations in a newly created non-board role, as the company expands its autonomous vehicle deployments across airports.
The Coventry-based business said the appointment supports its transition from proof-of-concept trials to wider commercial deployment of its autonomous systems, with a focus on developing a more consistent global operating model.
Gower brings more than 25 years of experience in aviation operations. He most recently served as managing director of Gatwick Ground Services, a subsidiary of British Airways, where he oversaw growth in staffing from 340 to more than 1,200 employees. He has also held senior roles at Aviator Airport Alliance, managing operations across multiple UK locations.
Commenting on his appointment, Gower said: “Aurrigo has already made strong progress in getting its technology into live airport operations. I’m joining at a point where there’s a clear opportunity to build consistency and scale from that foundation, and I’m looking forward to being part of that next stage of the journey.”
The appointment follows the start of production at Aurrigo’s new manufacturing facility at Power Park in Coventry. The site, which measures 130,615 square feet, will act as the company’s UK hub for engineering, autonomous vehicle development and manufacturing.
The facility includes existing infrastructure such as IT systems, office space, EV charging and production areas, as well as space for an on-site autonomous vehicle test track to support development and demonstrations.
David Keene, chief executive of Aurrigo International, said: “We are very pleased to welcome Mark to Aurrigo. His background in large-scale airport operations and delivery will be a strong addition to the team, as we continue to build momentum and move towards a more structured and scalable approach across our deployment programme.”
