Accountancy and advisory firm AAB has shared its role advising a pan-European holding company on its first UK acquisition – a Berkshire-based document management software provider. The deal saw Calico Group, which specialises in intelligent information management (IIM), acquire Filestream.
Headquartered in Bracknell, Filestream serves clients across the UK and internationally, including the likes of BNP Paribas, Scania, Breyer Group, Chelsea Football Club, and Dakota Hotel Group.
The transaction was supported by AAB’s Leeds-based corporate finance team, including Harry Milsom, with transactional tax support from corporate tax partner Kate Naylor and Helen Wilkinson, alongside legal advisers Mills & Reeve.
Patrick Lynch, Corporate Finance Partner, AAB, said: “This transaction represents a key strategic milestone for Calico as it enters the UK market. Cross-border deals of this nature highlight the increasing demand for scalable digital information management solutions across Europe. We were delighted to support the team on this acquisition and look forward to working with Calico as they continue to execute their growth strategy.”
Loic Carrère of Calico Group added: “This collaboration is definitively the best we have ever had in an M&A process. We have ambitious growth plans for the UK, and we look forward to continuing our relationship with AAB and our legal advisers.”
