London-based Opus 2, a software and service provider for disputes and case management, has announced its purchase of Uncover, an Amsterdam-based legal artificial intelligence (AI) company. The two organisations will combine their technology and expertise to improve workflows for legal professionals.

Uncover, established in 2022 by Caroline Korteweg and Ingrid van de Pol-Mensing, offers a legal technology platform to law firms and in-house legal teams. The platform employs large language models to assist with case management, analysis, and collaboration.

The Uncover engine identifies insights and cross-references documents in context to support performance and reliability. It automates document organisation, creates timelines, summarises information, and provides search and case assistance. The platform is designed to align with how lawyers manage litigation and to lessen the mental effort required for handling cases while ensuring legal professionals retain decision-making.

Opus 2 provides software and services for legal proceedings and dispute management. The company aims to design, develop, and deliver solutions that support the dispute lifecycle and enable legal professionals to manage cases and deliver results for clients.

The purchase builds upon Opus 2’s position in commercial disputes technology and will broaden the company’s offerings across litigation and arbitration solutions. Case strategy and agentic workflows are areas where the acquisition is expected to provide benefit to clients and the legal market.

Greg Blackman, Chief Executive Officer at Opus 2, said, “We’re thrilled to welcome Uncover to Opus 2. By combining our strengths, we’re poised to set a new standard for AI across the dispute lifecycle, delivering intuitive, innovative solutions that empower lawyers to excel and win cases.”

“In joining with Opus 2, we’re able to continue pursuing our mission to help lawyers be lawyers again—more productive, more insightful, and better equipped to thrive in the future,” said Caroline Zand-Korteweg, co-founder and co-Chief Executive Officer of Uncover. “Together, we will accelerate the pace of innovation and keep our clients ahead in a rapidly evolving legal market.”

“From our earliest conversations, it was clear that Opus 2 shares our commitment to innovation, client service, security, and company culture,” said Ingrid van de Pol-Mensing, co-founder and co-Chief Executive Officer of Uncover. “We’re proud to move forward into our next chapter with them.”
