San Francisco-headquartered design software group Figma has expanded its London operations, taking new office space at Elder Yard on Norton Folgate near Liverpool Street.

The relocation marks the New York-listed company’s third office base in London since establishing a presence in the capital in 2019. The expansion comes as UK customers generated over 15 million files on the platform over the past year.

The UK represents Figma’s largest European market by weekly active users, with two-thirds of the FTSE 100 index utilising the software as of the second quarter of 2026. Approximately 85 per cent of the company’s global weekly active user base is located outside the United States. UK corporate clients include BT, Vodafone, and ASOS.

The expansion reflects wider demand for commercial real estate across London’s technology sector. According to research from real estate services firm JLL, artificial intelligence businesses acquired more than 700,000 sq ft of London office space in the first half of 2026, compared to total take-up across 2025.

Alongside its UK expansion, Figma has expanded its international offices in Berlin, Tokyo, Tel Aviv, São Paulo, and New York.

Daniel Barrett, Figma senior vice president of international, said: “The UK has one of the deepest concentrations of design and product talent anywhere. We’re proud to expand our office in the heart of this incredible creative ecosystem.”

A survey conducted by Figma among 421 UK designers and developers found that 34 per cent of respondents reported artificial intelligence having a transformational or major impact on collaboration, up from 14 per cent in the prior year.

The real estate expansion follows a prior footprint expansion in the capital after the termination of Figma’s proposed merger with Adobe, which saw Figma receive a $1bn termination fee to fund international operations. The prior investment is relevant to the current site launch, as it established London as the operational anchor for Figma’s wider expansion across European enterprise markets.
