Change management consultancy Nine Feet Tall has delivered the largest UK public cloud deal for SAP in 2024, replacing various legacy systems at PA Media with cloud-based software. The programme involved a comprehensive overhaul of recruitment, onboarding, finance, reporting and payroll processes for more than 1,000 members of staff based in the UK and India.

PA Media Group reached a point where its previous enterprise resource planning solution no longer met the requirements of the business. Nine Feet Tall was appointed to help the news and media agency standardise its working methods and create more scalable platforms to support future growth.

Following a review of existing infrastructure, the consultancy held workshops for senior management to align the project with business goals. New operating models were created to assist with daily operations, alongside team structures designed to provide greater organisational clarity.

The implementation was managed in phases, ensuring that new technology was introduced alongside changes to working practices. Governance, change management and training were integrated into the project from the beginning to support the transition for the multinational workforce.

James Howarth, Senior Manager at Nine Feet Tall, said: “This programme is one of the largest and most complex transformations we’ve delivered to date. Supporting a multinational organisation like PA Media through a critical ERP and HR transformation required careful planning, strong partnership and disciplined execution.”

Bruce Marson, Group Chief Financial Officer, PA Media, said: “We made a significant investment to modernise our technology for the future, and this implementation will be transformative for PA Media. The programme delivery has been a success because of the hard work and careful planning of all involved.”

Nine Feet Tall is headquartered in Bath and maintains further offices in London and Manchester. The consultancy provides services for complex change projects across several sectors, including retail, housing, construction and financial services.
