Space Park Leicester to host event during East Midlands Tech Week
Space Park Leicester is preparing to host a dedicated space technology event as part of the inaugural East Midlands Tech Week later this month.
The regional technology festival will take place from 15 to 19 June and is designed to bring together businesses, researchers, entrepreneurs and technology organisations from across the East Midlands.
On 18 June, Space Park Leicester will host its Space Tech event as part of the festival’s “Space City” programme. The session will focus on how space-enabled data, research and innovation are being applied across different industries and supporting regional economic activity.
The event will run from 2pm to 4.30pm at the University of Leicester’s £100m space research and innovation centre. Organisers said attendees will be able to learn about funding opportunities and take part in workshops aimed at supporting business growth.
William Wells, chief executive officer of Space Park Leicester, said: “Space Park Leicester is proud to play a leading role in the inaugural East Midlands Tech Week, bringing together innovators, researchers, entrepreneurs and industry leaders from across the region and beyond.
“As a hub for collaboration and technological advancement, we are delighted to host the Space Tech event and showcase the world-class expertise, facilities and opportunities that exist here in Leicester.”
He added: “East Midlands Tech Week is a powerful platform to celebrate the region’s strengths in innovation, spark new partnerships, and inspire the next generation of pioneers who will help shape our future.”
