London-headquartered Aptitude Software has appointed Kenneth Paqvalén as chief financial officer as the business expands its Fynapse finance software division.
Paqvalén joins the software group following senior finance leadership roles across technology, data, database, and telecommunications sectors. In his new position, he will oversee capital allocation, investment strategy, and commercial operations alongside chief executive officer Alex Curran and the board of directors.
The appointment comes as Aptitude Software scales Fynapse, an enterprise resource planning system designed for real-time finance operations and data integration within artificial intelligence projects.
Paqvalén brings nearly 15 years of chief financial officer experience to the role. Most recently, he served as chief financial officer at regulatory technology firm Napier AI, managing financial operations across banking and insurance compliance markets.
His previous executive positions include chief financial officer roles at distributed ledger firm R3 and database provider MariaDB. Earlier in his career, he led the finance and control function within Nokia’s business development division, participating in the acquisition of Motorola Networks. During a three-year tenure as chief financial officer at data integration provider Matillion, he oversaw financial operations as the business scaled from £112m to £1.12bn ($150m to $1.5bn).
Alex Curran, chief executive officer of Aptitude Software, said: “Kenneth joins Aptitude at a pivotal point in our journey. We have a significant opportunity ahead of us with Fynapse, and we’re focused on scaling the business to capture it. He brings deep financial leadership experience, a strong commercial mindset and a proven track record of helping SaaS and AI businesses grow. He also understands how the role of the CFO is changing: from steward of the numbers to a strategic co-pilot to the business. That perspective will be invaluable as we accelerate Fynapse, strengthen our commercial execution and pursue the opportunity we see in finance ERP.”
Kenneth Paqvalén commented: “I look forward to applying my experience scaling high-growth companies to strengthen financial foundations and continue developing the product base, while maintaining a focus on customers and their experience of the software.”
The appointment follows Aptitude Software’s commercial rollout of Fynapse to global professional services providers, including a strategic partnership with a Big Four accounting firm to power its mid-market managed finance services. The operational scaling of Fynapse connects directly to Paqvalén’s appointment, as the company seeks to build capital foundations and manage enterprise software growth.
